Im Januar ist es im Vergleich zu Deutschland schon sehr angenehm lau in Varanasi – tagsüber (Ariane ist da gänzlich anderer Meinung). Abends und nachts dagegen wird es schon mal empfindlich kalt. Improvisation ist da das Eine, dicke Socken aber das Sichere und die Hoffnung auf genügend Kerzen und wenig Stromausfälle bis zum Schlafengehen.In January it is pleasantly mild in Varanasi - daytime (Ariane is there an entirely different opinion). By night, however it will get fairly cold. Improvisation is one, thick socks are better and hope for enough candles and little power outages until bedtime.

Mehrmals am Tag fällt der Strom aus. Wann genau und für wie lange ist täglich eine Überraschung – manchmal eine positive (aber selten). Improvisation ist dann alles.
Several times a day the power is removed. Exactly when and for how long each day is a surprise - sometimes a positive (but rarely). Improvisation is everything.
